After connecting through Atlanta, Alex and I arrived in Johannesburg, rented a car and set off for the Lion Park. It was dark, the steering wheel was on the right hand side of the car and the GPS wasn't working. Several stops and a police escort later, we arrived at the Lion Park, bribed a guard to let us into our tent as we arrived too late for check-in and fell fast asleep. We slept with the sounds of lions nearby and woke with the sun to a giraffe outside out tent....we were in Africa.
